Summary: Baton Rouge High School is listed on the National Historic Register and is a gem within the mid city community. In in effort to restore the school to its previous grace and elegance, the Baton Rouge School Board embarked on a $50-million dollar renovation. Dana Brown & Associates, Inc.* led the design team in its site planning efforts in protection and preservation of Historic Live Oaks on the 17-acre site, the creation of open green space, outdoor student courtyards, athletic fields and courts, and the development of an Alumni Donor Plaza.

Services:

  • Site Planning of landscape spaces, parking lots, athletic facilities, and courtyards.
  • Designed a site plan that maximizes green space and permeability using sustainable methods that will serve as a teaching opportunity for the attending students and local community members
  • The student courtyard explored alternative materials for various use of the outdoor space by the performing arts classes. Colored paring and bioswales give the interior courtyard a distinct look and feel for the students and facility.
