Woman’s Hospital Campus Master Plan: Baton Rouge, LA

Client: Woman’s Hospital Foundation

Summary: The new Woman’s Hospital campus is comprised of a 300-bed, 520,000 square-foot hospital as well as 260,000 square-foot medical office buildings on 85 acres in southeast Baton Rouge. Dana Brown & Associates, Inc.* designed the over 30 acres of open green space, including over five acres of bioswales and stormwater management best management practices (BMPs), an outdoor dining plaza, and a 1.25-mile walking and running trail around the lake.

Services:

  • Developed a comprehensive stormwater management plan for the campus focusing on collecting, filtering, and redistributing rainfall from large parking areas and building rooftops
  • Designed an outdoor dining courtyard overlooking the lake, as well as a trail system and decks around the lake
  • Designed naturalized lake and landscape, including water quality wetlands and cypress wetland forebay visible from all birthing rooms
  • Designed hospital arrival and entrance areas and entry boulevard
